Sensitive Skin Care - Find Something That
Works And Stick With It
When I was a little kid, I had quite
robust health. Nothing would get to me – not colds, flu, scrapes, cuts,
or anything else. As I grew older, however, I think i grew a little bit
more fragile. I developed some allergies, got sick more often, and
became more responsive to stress. Worst of all, however, were my
sensitive skin issues. I would break out in rashes, bumps, hives – you
name it. Sensitive skin care was a nightmare.
If you have ever had to care for sensitive skin, you know what I mean.
Almost anything might irritate it. Even some of the skin care sensitive
moisturizers would cause me to break out. It has gotten better now, but
it was awful and I was in my teenage years. Back then, my face looked
like a map of the moon. No matter what I would do with sensitive skin
care, nothing would help. I tried all kinds of skin care acne
treatments, tried cutting out various foods that were said to promote
allergies, used moisturizers, exfoliating agents, and anything else that
anyone would recommend to me. Nothing worked.
Nowadays, however, I have got a little bit better about sensitive
skincare. The key is not more, but less. Using too many sensitive skin
moisturizer creams was actually irritating my skin, not helping it. The
key to sensitive skin care is to find one or two things that work and
stick with them. I have my facial soap that doesn't irritate my face, my
gentle bath soap, a sensitive skin moisturizing cream, and that's it. I
do not use too much moisturizer, do not wash too frequently, and take
care not to use perfumes that might irritate my skin. It has become
surprisingly easy to keep my skin smooth and healthy, all thanks to
years of patience.
If you have sensitive skin care problems, the best way to handle it is
one step at a time. The first thing to do is to find some sensitive skin
soap that works for you. Perfumed soaps are right out, as is anything
harsh or with too many additives. The key with soap for sensitive skin
is to get one without too many ingredients. The more things in it, the
more potential to irritate your skin. With sensitive skin care, simpler
is usually better. Even vitamin E moisturizer can sometimes do a number
on the skin, so watch out.
